Commercial Water Cleanup in Your Bridgewater Salon

Having a water leak from a sink in your hair salon not only means cleaning up but also a potential loss of revenue. You may have to close down for a day or two, but more importantly, you also need to protect your expensive equipment and retail products from further damage.

Commercial water cleanup in Bridgewater requires swift action to mitigate damages and loss of business. Luckily there is new laminate flooring with a durable vapor barrier in your salon to ensure resistance to moisture penetrating under the flooring. The biggest concern here is the equipment, retail goods, and the relative humidity (RH) change due to the excess moisture in the air.

SERVPRO understands the need to keep your doors open for business. In this competitive and loyalty-based service, keeping the client's schedules can be critical. Wedding day hairdos or an octogenarian's monthly pedicure mean more than just a revenue flow. Our job is to keep you in business.

Retail goods and portable equipment such as hairdryers, chairs, and stylist products should be moved into a safe, dry area either within the building in a backroom storage area or to an off-site storage facility until they can safely return to the salon. Long term exposure to high RH levels may damage the electrical components within hairdryers, curling irons, and other equipment.

SERVPRO technicians remove excess water and dry flooring through the use of high-velocity air movers and dehumidifiers. During the entire restoration process, they use thermo-hygrometers (hygrometers) to measure the relative humidity. The technicians measure RH in various areas to determine the correct RH goal for the affected area: air in the affected areas, the air in the unaffected areas, the air outside the structure, the air coming out of the dehumidifier, and the air coming out of the HVAC. One technician typically completes these measurements for the sake of consistency.

The desired RH level is below 50-60%. If the RH is higher than 60%, the air movers and dehumidifiers run longer to ensure that more dry, warm air circulates throughout the affected area, thus bringing down the RH further. When technicians reach the desired level, equipment, and retail goods may be brought back into the salon, and business, as usual, may begin again.
